So, the last time I wrote, I was sipping on a coffee in Barcelona, excited to head to Paris. Little did I know, I hate Paris.
My opinion of Paris is a little controversial (to say the least) & even though it was a gorgeous city, the atmosphere & some of the people I met just didn’t do it for me.
Let’s start at the start!
We arrived in Charles De Gaulle & we were super excited to get to our hotel and explore! I have a friend who lived in Paris for years, so she told me how to get to our hotel, what tickets to buy and everything! But if she didn’t help us out I think we would have ended up lost on the French public transport system for the 4 days we were there!
We needed to change at Gare du Nord & here’s were my issues started. EVERYONE told me that I needed to be extra careful of pick pockets, & I had been to Paris when I was younger so was kiiinda familiar with what it was like. I was not prepared to see 3 people tackled to the ground in the space of 30 minutes while we tried to buy some tickets.
We woke up gagging for coffee & made our way to the Sacre Coeur which was stunning! We climbed the stairs up to the top of the dome & snapped a heap of photos of the streets, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame & essentially had a 360 view of Paris!
Day 3 was for the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe & other Parisian things! We visited Quasimodo at Notre Dame, Shakespeare & Co Bookshop (a personal dream of mine since reading Anna & the French Kiss). But on this day, it literally poured down rain. All day long.
The last day in Paris as reserved for the best thing Paris had to offer me.
I GOT TO GO TO DISNEYLAND PARIS. & It was just amazing. Probably the highlight of my holiday. & Paris’ redeeming quality!
All in all, I can’t complain because it was a good trip, we had a blast but it was just that me and Paris, we didn’t gel as well as I thought we would!
